Everything you need to know upfront

01 · Minimum Order

10 pieces per design

We accept smaller orders for sampling. For custom designs, the minimum order quantity (MOQ) is 10 pieces in one colour variation, or 25 pieces across multiple colourways of the same design. For catalogue designs, the MOQ may be lower — ask us.

02 · Sample Policy

Paid samples, credited back

We charge a small sample fee upfront that is fully credited against your production order. This covers the artisan's time and courier charges. Samples are hand-painted and shipped within 7–10 working days of order confirmation.

03 · Lead Time

15–30 days production

Lead time depends on design complexity and quantity. Standard orders of up to 200 pieces: 15–20 days. Larger bulk orders: 25–35 days. Rush orders are possible for an additional fee — ask us about availability at the time of enquiry.

04 · Pricing

Transparent wholesale rates

Pricing is shared on request after a brief WhatsApp or email introduction. Rates vary by design complexity, fabric type, painting area, and quantity. No middlemen — you buy direct from the atelier. Volume discounts apply for orders above 500 pieces.

05 · Payment

50% advance, 50% before dispatch

For new buyers, we require a 50% advance to begin production. The remaining 50% is due before dispatch. For established buyers with a good track record, we offer Net-30 terms. We accept bank transfer (SWIFT/NEFT) and major payment platforms.

06 · Exclusivity

Design exclusivity available

We can offer design exclusivity for a specific region or market — meaning we will not sell the same design to a competing buyer in your geography. Exclusivity is available on minimum annual volumes. Ask us for details.

From our atelier in Surat, your order reaches you wherever in the world you operate — with proper documentation and full tracking.

Express Courier

For most international orders, we ship via DHL, FedEx, or UPS Express. Door-to-door delivery with full tracking and commercial invoice.

DHL FedEx UPS

Sea Freight

For bulk orders above 50 kg, sea freight is the most economical option. We handle all export documentation, customs clearance, and freight booking.

Typical transit: 15–35 days · Best for large bulk orders

CIF FOB DDP

Documentation

Every shipment comes with a full commercial invoice, packing list, country of origin certificate, and GST invoice. We handle all export paperwork.

Questions we always get

How do I get started as a new wholesale buyer?+

The easiest way is a WhatsApp message or an email to sales@handpaintedsaree.com. Tell us briefly who you are, where you're based, and what you're looking for. We'll share our catalog and a price list within 24 hours, and take it from there.

Can I visit the atelier?+

Yes. We welcome wholesale buyers to visit our atelier in Surat. Please contact us in advance to schedule a visit. We'll show you the full painting process and let you view current stock and design samples.

Do you offer white-label or private label?+

Yes. We can ship sarees without any Hand Painted Saree branding, and can attach your own labels and tags. Private label packaging is available for established buyers. Ask us about minimum requirements.

What happens if there's a quality issue with my order?+

We photograph every piece before packing, so we have a record of the condition at dispatch. If a genuine quality issue occurs, we'll replace the defective pieces in your next order or offer a credit. We take quality seriously — our artisans' reputation depends on it.

Can I order a mix of designs in one shipment?+

Absolutely. Most of our buyers order multiple designs per shipment. Each design must meet the per-design MOQ (10 pieces), but there is no maximum number of designs per order.
